Texas Society of CPAs Names New Chairman
The Texas Society of CPAs has selected Fred Timmons, CPA as its new chairman for the 2012-2013 year. Timmons is a partner of Tsakopulos, Brown, Schott and Anchors and has been a member of the San Antonio Chapter of the TSCPA for 20 years. As chairman, Timmons will lead the Society’s board of directors in setting policies, managing programs and overseeing activities. He has held every position within the San Antonio Chapter, including president. Timmons has also received several rewards, such as the Meritorious Service to the Profession Award in 2008 and the Distiguished Service for CPE Award in 1994 and 1995. Timmons graduated from Texas State University (formerly Southwest Texas State University).
New Member Elected to FNIH Board of Directors
The Foundation for the National Institutes of Health has selected Jim Donovan to join its Board of Directors. Donovan’s approximate 20-year experience includes investment banking, investment management and corporate strategy. He currently works as an adjunct professor for the University of Virginia. As a board member, Donovan will have responsibility for FNIH’s mission, organizational planning, managing resources, FNIH’s programs and developing the foundation’s public standing.
